Energy saving method for casting candles

Method for casting candles in a cyclic process is claimed in which hot water from a hot-water tank (8) preheats the candle moulds in the casting chamber (1), the molten candle wax is poured, and cold water from a cold-water tank (9) cools and solidifies the wax so that the candles can be removed. The novelty is that the hot water is completely drained from the casting chamber (1) and returned to the hot-water tank (8) before the cold water is admitted; and the cold water is completely drained from the casting chamber (1) and returned to the cold-water tank (9) before the hot water is admitted to start the next cycle. Also claimed is an appts. for the above method in which the casting chamber (1) contains the candle moulds and has hot-water (5) and cold-water (6) supply lines from hot-water (8) and cold-water (9) tanks, and an overflow. Signals from a temperature sensor are used to control the supply and return of hot (5) and cold (6) water to and from the tanks (8, 9).
