Fault current limiter for HV network

摘要

The limiter includes a fast switch (I) and a resistor with positive temperature coefficient both being connected in parallel with a power line (LL). The switch is inserted in a vacuumed ampoule while a fast circuit breaker (DR) is connected in series with the line. A fault detector (TI) supplies a coil (bE) which controls the switch and a second coil (bDR) which controls the breaker. The resistor is made up of four identical resistors (R1,R4) interconnected by metal links (18,19).
