PURPOSE: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte excellent in affinity with a carbon electrode. CONSTITUTION: In an electrolyte for a battery basically formed of a positive electrode 1, a negative electrode 2 consisting of carbonaceous material, and electrolyte, this electrolyte has a molecular weight of 108-220, and it is obtained by dissolving a lithium salt as solute to an organic solvent consisting of 1-50 mole % of a liquefied organic solvent selected from esters, ethers and carbonates having phenyl groups, and 99-50vol.% of an organic solvent other than it. |
