Interactive television system

The system includes a TV receiver (10) at the viewer which receives video signals and has an associated decoder (20). Control data are obtained from the video signal for selection of a reverse channel (50) to the broadcaster. A coupler (40) links a signal processor (30) to a selector coupling network. In response to the control data, the signal processor selects the reverse channel to a broadcast data terminal (70). Pref. the control data are available as digital video text data in the video signal. The control data may be located in preset, not used video text pages.
