The circular rubber discs are dish-shaped and joined together at their centres. The flexible lips at the circumference of the discs are normally in contact with each other. The excess cable is wound around the hub, through the lips. When the full length of the cable is required, it can be unwound . As it is unwound, the cable parts the lips, which reseal afterwards.
