SUPPORT FOR PLANOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE, PRODUCTION THEREOF AND ELECTROCHEMICAL SURFACE ROUGHENING DEVICE AND ELECTRODE USED THEREIN

PURPOSE: To produce a support for a planographic printing plate not generating contamination on the shadow part of an image and a blanket, good in the close adhesiveness with a photosensitive layer and satisfying easiness to look damping water in case of printing and to provide an electrochemical surface roughening device used in the production of the support. CONSTITUTION: In a support for a planographic printing plate having undulation by surface roughening treatment, this undulation is composed of grain wherein large waves with an average pitch of 5-30μm and medium waves composed of honeycomb pits with an average diameter of 0.1-3μm are superposed one upon another and the average surface roughness of the support measured by an interatomic force microscope is 0.35-1.0μm. The ratio of 30 deg. or more in the degree of inclination of surface degree-of-inclination distribution measured by the interatomic force microscope is 5-40%.
