PROCESSING METHOD FOR USED BATTERY

PURPOSE: To prevent the heat generation or generation of electric shock by discharge of residual power when mass quantity of used batteries are collected and stored. CONSTITUTION: A number of used lithium batteries 1 are contained in a basket 2 of polypropylene. The basket 2 including the batteries 1 is immersed in a bath 4 including water solution of sodium chloride (salt water) of 0.1mol/liter as ion conductive liquid for more than 1 hour, and it is pulled up after residual power in the batteries is discharged. The used batteries may otherwise be carried on a conveyor in order to be automatically immersed in the bath of liquid having conductivity.
