INTER-FRAME PREDICTION METHOD

PURPOSE: To produce a prediction image with a natural fog at a border with blocked areas by using area division extended so as to be overlapped with an adjacent area and combining data of the extended part and background so as to produce the predicted image. CONSTITUTION: A current frame image 1 is given to an area division section 2, in which the image is divided into some areas 3. Furthermore, an extension parameter 5 is calculated depending on a degree of a fog for each are blocked by a fog detection section 4. An area extension section 6 extends the blocked area so as to be overlapped with an adjacent area by using the parameter 5. A motion paramater detection section 8 calculates a motion parameter 9 of affine transformation and map transformation on the basis of image data and a preceding frame image 14 of the extended area 7. Then an area overlapping extract section 10 discriminates overlap based on the affine transformation, the parameter 9 and the area information and provides an output of overlap information 11. Then a prediction image generating section 12 produces a prediction image 13 on the information 11 for each area.
