PURPOSE: To provide an electrode with high charge/discharge capacity by using a mixture of graphite having a specified interplanar distance in graphite structure and graphite having another specified interplaner distance as an electrode active material. CONSTITUTION: A mixture of graphite having an interplanar distance (d) in graphite structure of 0.3354-0.3400nm and graphite having an interplanar distance (d) of 0.343-355nm is manufactured by thermal decomposition by a chemical vapor-phase deposition method, or crushing, mixing, and baking. The electrode increases charge/discharge capacity in a low potential part compared with graphite having a usual single spacing. By combining with a suitable positive electrode, battery performance is increased. |
