EXCAVATING METHOD OF SHIELDING EXCAVATING MACHINE

PURPOSE: To provide an excavating method of a shield excavating machine reducing the reactive force. CONSTITUTION: A shield excavating machine is provided with a shield excavating machine body 1 arranged in an excavated tunnel and a cutter 2 positioned at the front side. In this excavating method, the excavating machine body 1 and the cutter 2 can be relatively extended or contracted. The shield excavating machine body 1 is installed in an excavating tunnel and the cutter 2 is advanced against the machine body 1 to cut the heading. Then the cutter 2 is moved back against the machine body 1 and the machine body 1 is moved forward against the excavated hole. In this way, the shield excavating machine body 1 and the cutter 2 are alternately advanced.
