METHOD FOR MAKING A SELF-SEALING COMPOSITION

The invention relates to a method for making a self-sealing elastomer composition, wherein said method comprises the following steps: a) first making a master batch including at least one solid diene elastomer and more than 30 pce (per 100 parts of s solid elastomer) to 90 pce of a thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin by mixing these different components in a mixer at a temperature or up to a so-called "hot-mixing temperature" higher than the softening temperature of the thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin; b) then feeding into the master batch thus prepared at least a cross-linking system and mixing the entirety in the same mixer or in a different mixer at a temperature or up to a temperature which is kept lower than 100°C in order to obtain said self-sealing composition.
