PURPOSE: To provide a low-cost suction unit for an ink jet recorder capable of reducing in size the recorder. CONSTITUTION: The suction unit for an ink jet recorder comprises a sidewall 12 for forming a cylindrical suction chamber 13, a partition wall 14 fixed to the sidewall 12 to radially partition the chamber 13, rotary blades 21 rotatably arranged to radially partition the chamber 13, a suction port 15 connected to the partitioned chamber 13a formed between the wall 14 and the blade 21 to suck ink to the chamber 13a in communication with a recording head, and a discharge port connected to the chamber 13a to discharge the ink sucker to the chamber 13. When the blades 21 are rotated, the chamber 13b becomes a negative pressure to eliminate the discharge failure of the ink. The suction can be conducted merely by rotating the blades 21. |
