PURPOSE: To provide an ink jet head, a head cartridge using the ink jet head, an ink jet recording device and a head kit that minimize a probability of occurrence of breaking of an isolation film by limiting a part in which a conductive protection film such as Ta film exists to the minimum required. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet head comprises a plurality of electrothermal transducers on a silicon substrate 12 that are electrically activated to heat and eject inks. On the substrate, Ta as a conductive protection film that protects the substrate from ink is formed only on heating resistors (R1-R128) of electrothermal transducers surrounded by Ta film boundary line 11 in a region surrounded by a liquid chamber boundary line 16 or on an aluminum wiring pattern 13 and the heating resistors directly beneath the ink liquid chamber. |
