PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary display conditions by eliminating restrictions on display characters and to provide uniform illumination by preventing an operating button from being illuminated unevenly. SOLUTION: An operating button 20 molded in two colors with display characters thereon is fixed to the back of the front plate 2 of an electronic equipment main body 1 at its upper end fixing part 25. A pressing part 26 is formed on the back of the lower end of the operating button 20, A light guide plate 21 for illuminating the operating button 20 is placed behind the operating button 20. On the back of the light guide plate 21, the upper end fixing part 30 of an operating piece 22 is supported against a frame-shaped portion 31. By pressing the loose end of the operating piece 22 by means of the pressing part 26 of the operating button 20, the operating piece 22 is rotated about the fixing part 30 by means of its elastic deformation to operate a switch 8. By releasing the loose end of the operating piece 22 by means of the pressing part 26 of the operating button 20, the operating piece 22 is elastically restored from the fixing part 30 to release the switch 8.
