<p>A plastic swimming pool or underground tank shell, made e.g. from a composition material, has its walls (2, 3) equipped with external reinforcing members (4, 5), and a thrust bar (8) which is situated close to the bottom of the walls and is designed to receive the back-filling material, e.g. gravel, and resist any upward thrust from the ground. The thrust bar (8) is preferably made from a plastic material reinforced with mineral fibres, e.g. glass fibre-reinforced polyester, applied on a paper or cardboard mould. The thrust bar has a flat upper surface which slopes downwards slightly relative to the wall of the shell.</p> |
