<p>A plug-in computer card (30) includes an audio generator circuit (50) having an audio analog output (53) and an enclosure (52) around the audio generator circuit (50). An audio speaker element (58) is contained within the enclosure, and is in electrical communication with the audio analog output (53) of the audio generator circuit (50). The audio speaker element (58) is preferably a piezoelectric element (90) fixed to a cover (56) of the enclosure (52) or a loudspeaker (60) mounted within the enclosure (52). There is an input/output connector (32) fixed to the enclosure (52) and in electrical communication with the audio generator circuit (50). The card (30) is also provided with a disabling circuit (73, 76) that electronically disables the audio speaker element (58) responsive to an electronic signal.</p> |
