PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the current density between respective electrode plates smaller and to prevent the damage of the respective electrode plates by forming zigzag passages in which water to be treated flows from an inflow port toward an outflow port of plural reaction passages formed of partitions, bulkheads and the respective electrode plates and the respectively connection passages formed alongside the respective electrode plates. SOLUTION: Water which is to be treated and flows from the inflow port 11a to the inflow chamber Ra of the electrolytic cell flows in the zigzag passages P and is electrolytically treated between both electrode plates 40 before water arrives at the outflow chamber Rb. Water is thereafter discharged outside of the cell from the respective outflow ports 11b. This respective zigzag passages P are formed by the reaction passages P1 to P3 formed by the partitions 50, the bulkheads 20 and the electrode plates 40 and the respective connection passages Pa, Pb formed alongside the respective electrode plates 40. The reaction passages P1 to P3 merely exist between the respective electrode plates 40 and the energization of the electrode plates 40 exclusive of the parts where the partitions 50 exist is possible. Since the energizeable area of the respective electrode plates 40 is sufficiently assured, the current density between the respective electrode plates 40 is lowered. |
