<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good toner image and to prevent deterioration of a fixing roller by controlling the major axial diameter of a coloring agent dispersed in a toner to be in a specified range. SOLUTION: This toner is used for such an image forming method that toner images of plural colors produced by developing an electrostatic latent image with toners of plural colors are overlapped to obtain a multicolored image and the obtd. image is fixed by using a heat roll. The major axial length of a coloring agent dispersed in the toner is substantially <=0.5μm. To decrease the dispersion diameter (major axial diameter) of a pigment, plural processes are used or the same process is repeated, or a dispersant is used, or a process which uses a large energy for kneading is used. As for a process which especially uses a large kneading energy, such a process is used that a solvent is added by 10±5wt.% to the source material and the mixture is kneaded while keeping the temp of the mixture lower than the boiling point of the solvent. If the solvent is added by <=5wt.%, the toner can not be kneaded, and if the amt. is >=15wt.%, viscosity of the kneaded material decreases.</p> |
