Device forming a sanitary towel or the like comprising a pad (1) absorbing fluids inside an envelope whose upper face at least consists of a permeable layer (2) and in which an impermeable layer (3) constitutes the lower face of the envelope, or is interposed between the said envelope and the absorbent pad , the said envelope being wider than the pad, characterised in that the envelope comprises, over at least part of the crotch zone, a strip (5, 5'), thus improving comfort.
