At least mainly linear and alpha-stable olefinically unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds with a flash point of at least 80 degree C are used as oil phase or component of the oil phase of oil-based or water-based fluid bore-hole treatment agents. Corresponding bore-hole flushing agents contain besides the alpha-olefins other oil phases of the category of the bore-hole treatment agents, and are characterised by their environmental compatibility and by their aerobic and anaerobic degradability. Suitable oil mixed phases are in particular oleophilic alcohols, ethers and corresponding esters of carbonic and/or carboxylic acid.
