PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a book clamping device which can operate simply and highly efficiently to be provided in an end face polishing machine which polishes an end face of an old book for beautifying and reproducing. SOLUTION: In between a receiving member 2 having a face vertical to a polishing stage and a pressing member 3 which holds a predetermined opening width opposite to the receiving member 2 and has a vertical plane for clamping, a single or a plurality of blocks 5 are provided through a guide mechanism G. On the block 5, a groove which forms a V-shaped or U-shaped cross section or a bottomless space when it is cut in a clamp operating axial direction is provided. For the guide mechanism G, an axis 7 which passes through both ends of each block 5 is provided, and a spring 8 is provided in between pinching opposite faces of the blocks. |
