A device and a process to correct a limiting value (16) for closing force, in particular in a sliding sunroof, comprise an air pressure sensor (14) whose signals are averaged to derive a reference pressure (19) and determine changes in pressure as deviations from this reference pressure. An electronic control unit (12) alters the limiting value (16) for closing force as a function of pressure conditions.
