Electromechanical transducer for low frequency loudspeaker

The transducer has at least one driver coil (7) secured to a loudspeaker membrane (2) and positioned within the airgap (16) of a permanent magnet (8). There is at least one additional compensation coil (14) which is mechanically and inductively coupled to the drive coil, is electrically insulated, and permanently short-circuited by a low-ohmic path. Preferably the drive coil and the compensation coil are positioned concentrically.
