Processing and tinning food portions and especially blanching small fish fillets

A process blanches small fish fillets and places them into tins. The fillets are laid on the conveyor (1) at a charging station (4) and are transported through a blanching station. They then proceed to an off loading station (5). Here they are transferred into tins (13). In this original process, the fish fillets are portioned and laid onto the conveyor at the charging station, and automatically transferred into the tins at the off loading station. Also claimed is a unit for the processing of food portions, especially of fish and fish fillets, essentially as described. In addition, there are work stations (6, 7, 8) along the belt, and provision to open the depressions in the belt, to deposit the food into the tins.
