The device includes two batteries (1,2) which are connected in parallel between a charger and an alarm working at low voltage. The batteries have input and output contacts (R1,R3;R2,R4) which are opened and shut sequentially such that each battery exchanges charging and feeding modes without disturbing the alarm system supply. The sequential operation of the contacts (R1,R3;R2,R4) is achieved by using a fixed base board with fixed contacts and a second board with further contacts attached which slides above the fixed base board and is actuated by a rack and pinion. The drive to the rack and pinion consists of a motor with reducing and reversing gear.
