Modular element in which the rib profile (3) is joined to the cross profiles (4) which fit into the recesses (3A) at the overlap points (3L,4B) and to the edge profiles (5) by cold worked connections (pressure joints, punch rivets, screws). The outer skin (2) is attached to the contact surface of the rib profile (3) by flat head rivets. A tensioning foot (6) may be fitted to each end of the rib profile, via a cold-seamed connection which may be seen in the longitudinal direction of the rib profile. Seamable support plates (7,8,9,10) may be built to manufacture a solid connection in the seam-line region between module elements (1).
