Indexing mechanism for vehicle-seat adjustment

The mechanism has an actuating section (10) driving an output one (12), and which works with a first driving section (18) consisting of driving (14) and locking (16) ones. It also works in the opposite direction with a second driving one (24) likewise comprising transmission (20) and locking (22) ones. The sections (18,24) can be on opposite sides of the actuating one, being actuated by it alternately. When each transmission section is actuated, it can drive the output section (12) and release the respective locking one, while in the neutral position the output section is released, being then held in position by both locking ones.
