PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select and start a required operating system out of plural systems from a remote place by transferring a start operating system name specified together with a remote start command to a boot loader. SOLUTION: A user specifies the name of a required operating system out of plural systems to a front system 12 through a communication line. A host system 1 transfers a boot loader 130 to a main storage device 11 through the system 12. The transferred boot loader 110 loads the operating system 131 or 132 from an external storage device 13 to the device 11 through the system 12.
