The invention relates to a skirting board arrangement. The skirting board 24 rests against the floor 56 in the lift cage shell, and by means of fixing ridges 38 and screws is fixed in holes 36 in plates in the cage shell wall structure. The lift cage wall panel 7 rests on top of the skirting board 24. The skirting board is provided with ventilation holes 48 below the wall panel 7.
