The valve has valve parts arranged in a housing (2) with a cylindrical hollow space (9) and a positioning lever (11) extending out of the housing. The lever is pivotable around its longitudinal axis (15) to control the mixture ratio of cold and hot water and is movable in the direction of its longitudinal axis from a first to a second end position for control of the throughflow quantity of water. Through the side wall (4) of the housing are inlet (6) and outlet (8) apertures. The inlet apertures for hot and cold water are displaced in relation to one another. The outlet aperture is at a predetermined distance (20) above or beneath the inlet apertures. In the hollow space is arranged a closure slide (12) fixed to the lever, which has the shape of a semi-cylindrical piston which locates on the cylindrical side wall of the housing and is also supported on the facing wall (13) of the rotary slide (10).
