<p>A ballistic resistant article comprising at least one consolidated network of high strength fibers in thermoplastic matrix material comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane, the high strength fibers having a tenacity of at least about 7 g/d, a tensile modulus of at least about 150 g/d and an energy-to-break of at least about 8 J/g, wherein prior to consolidation the matrix material consists essentially of an aqueous solution comprising an aliphatic diisocyanate and polyol, said polyurethane matrix material being derived from the aliphatic diisocyanate and the polyol.</p> |
