PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To visually and accurately instruct, for example, course change without forcing a driver to check with an image display when approaching such branch guidance point as an intersection. SOLUTION: A navigation system has an antenna 12 for receiving electric waves from a GPS antenna, a controller 15 for indexing a current position based on a signal from the antenna 12 and at the same time performing various kinds of processings for guiding a vehicle to a selected destination, and an image display 17 for showing, for example, a map and a current position while being controlled by the controller. Then, an advance direction indicator 30 with a marking part with such shape as an arrow or a triangle for instructing, for example, advancing direction is provided and the above controller 15 performs lighting operation, blinking operation, or displaying operation to indicate the advancing direction at the marking part of the above advance direction indicator 30 when a branch guidance point such as an intersection approaches. |
