This invention is about the operation controlling apparatus set up a switch member at the bottom of suction member of vacuum cleaner for regulating the suction pressure by contacting the switch member with a floor. The operation controlling apparatus is composed of the switch member(16) mounted at the bottom of suction member(10) for detecting the contact condition of surface of the bottom of suction member, the controlling division(44) for controlling the suction pressure of suction member(10) by answering the contact condition of the switch member(16), the output level controlling division(50) for driving the vacuum motor(48) to control the suction pressure under the control of the controlling division(44).
