The instrument case consists of a base (1) which has a transverse hinge in the middle. The hinge form a stand for the instrument when in the open position. A lid (2) has a section (3) which acts as a music stand. The two halves of the base can have a hinged rack to lock them in the required position. The lid section acts as a music stand is divided from the remainder of the lid by a cross-bar (7) which can be either hinged or pliable and adjustable by one or more racks.
