METHOD FOR CUSTOM FITTING GOLF CLUBS

A method for custom fitting golf clubs is provided that measures the club head speeds at the bottom of the swing of the person being custom fitted as the person swings a plurality of differently numbered golf clubs. A baseline golf club frequency is selected for each club from predetermined recorded sets of data which interrelate club head speed and golf club frequency. The baseline frequency is adjusted for each fitted golf club according to at least one of the group consisting of the shaft composition of each fitted golf club, swing characteristics of the person and tempo of the person's swing, to get the proper frequency for each fitted golf club. A set of golf clubs having the proper frequencies for the person being custom fitted can then be selected.
