Car passenger safety device e.g. airbag with inflation source

A car passenger safety device has an inflatable protection device with an inflated and a non-inflated state plus an inflation source. A housing has walls to guide the flow from the source to the device. There is a mechanism to define an outlet in the housing for this flow with a door which moves between an open and a closed position, depending on the pressure of the flow. When the door is closed, it is pre-tensioned in the opening direction. The door has an elastically deformable plate made of spring steel. The pre-tensioning is done with a spring and the door is held closed against this tension by a catch.
