PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly crush a cathode ray tube with good working efficiency by moving one of first and second press parts having a plurality of projections provided to the opposed surfaces thereof in a direction approaching or separating from the other one of them and holding a part of the cathode ray tube to be crushed or the whole thereof between both press parts to crush the same. SOLUTION: The funnel part of a CRT to be crushed is charged in an inner housing through a funnel charging port 21BX and, when a press part 22 is allowed to fall by driving a drive mechanism, the funnel part is held between press parts 22, 23 having projections 32, 41 formed to the opposed surfaces thereof to be crushed. When the press part 22 risies after reaches a falling end to return to the original position, an air cylinder 51 is driven to raise the press part 23 and the broken pieces of the funnel part scattered on a press plate 40 are allowed to fall through the discharge port generated between a dustproof plate 35A and the press plate 40 to be discharged to a hopper 56. |
