PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the controllable range of a dampening water for a photosensitive planographic printing master plate having a photosensitive hydrophilic swellable layer on a substrate and to make the dampening water free from isopropanol(IPA) by incorporating a hydrophilic ethylene type unsatd. compd. into the hydrophilic swellable layer. SOLUTION: As for a hydrophilic ethylenically unsatd. compd., such hydrophilic vinyl monomers having vinyl groups can be used that are monomers having functional groups such as amino groups, carboxyl groups, sulfonate groups, amide groups, and hydroxyl groups, or monomers having polyalkylene oxide groups. The monomer having amino groups is dimethylaminomethylacrylate, etc. The monomer having carboxyl groups is an acrylic acid, etc. The monomer having sulfonate groups is a styrene sulfonate, etc., and the monomer having amide groups is an acrylamide, etc. These hydrophilic ethylene type unsatd. compds. are added to the compsn. which forms the hydrophilic swellable layer. |
