SHIELDED ELECTRIC CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve shielding performance by joining a pair of metal shells together. SOLUTION: A shielded electric connector 10 has a slender insulating housing 12 having both ends 14 and plural terminal inserting ports 16 extending in the lateral direction. A pair of slender metal shells 22 and 24 have narrow slender flanges 28 and 36. At least a single metal shell 22 has tabs 48 projecting to an opening part 52 of the narrow flange 36 of another one metal shell 24 from the narrow flange 28. The tabs 48 are bent in the longitudinal direction by going over the narrow flange 36 of another one metal shell 24. Therefore, a pair of metal shells 22 and 24 are joined together.
