PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating cooking appliance to restrict supply electric power to a load pan according to an operating frequency by placing restriction on a frequency detecting area of an inverter. SOLUTION: This cooking appliance is provided with an element voltage detecting part 18 to detect end-to-end voltage of a switching element 15, an operating frequency detecting part 19 to detect an operating frequency of an inverter circuit 17 and a control means 21 to control ON time of the switching element 15. The operating frequency detecting part 19 detects the operating frequency when detecting voltage of the element voltage detecting part 18 becomes equal to or higher than first preset voltage. The control means 21 controls ON time of the switching element 15 so that the detecting voltage of the element voltage detecting means 18 becomes equal to or smaller than second preset voltage higher than the first preset voltage when it is equal to or smaller than a frequency preset by a detecting result of the operating frequency detecting part 19.
