PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester pile fabric excellent in wearing amenities without sweaty unpleasantness and itchy irritation caused by static electricity by using polyester fibers having both of moisture-absorbing and antistatic properties as pile yarns and/or ground yarns. SOLUTION: A polyester copolymer prepared by copolymerizing a polyether- ester-amide block copolymer or dimethyl terephthalate/ethylene glycol/a polar group-bearing compound, for example, 5-sodiosulfo-isophthalic acid/trimethyl trimellitate is arranged in the fiber core and usual polyester is arranged in the sheath to prepare a sheath-core type conjugated fiber and the fiber is drawn to form a polyester fiber with moisture absorption and release parameterΔMR of >=1%, frictionally charging voltage of <=3KV, filament fineness of 0.5-7de. This polyester conjugated fiber is used as pile yarn and/or ground yarn to produce a pile cloth with a pile density of 700-2,500/in<2> .
