PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hollow waveguide type laser waveguide which is stable to an external environment and to which the execution of washing and sterilizing treatments is possible by sealing at least one end of the input and output ends of the hollow waveguide with a member which allows the transmission of a laser beam. SOLUTION: The hollow waveguide 10 is inserted into a ferrule 11 which is bored through at its one end. The member (window) 12 which allows the transmission of the laser beam is mounted at the front end of the ferrule 11. The one end face of the hollow waveguide 10 is sealed by the window 12. The hollow waveguide 10 is adequately a metallic hollow waveguide into which a dielectric substance transparent at the wavelength band of the laser beam is inserted. The window 12 is preferably wholly or partly composed of quartz glass or sapphire. The surface on the laser light source side of the window 12, i.e., the incident surface, is preferably formed of a surface sloped slightly obliquely from the incident laser beam. |
