The brake lining abrasion sensing device of an automobile is capable of sensing an amount of abrasion of the brake lining, without dissembling the hub or drum of wheel. The brake lining abrasion sensing device of the automobile in which a brake is installed by using a friction force between a lining(20) attached on the top end of a brake shoe(10) and a drum(30), comprises: first and second through holes(11,12) on the brake shoe(10) and the lining(20); a sensor(40) supported by a double holder(41) and a spring(42) and disposed in the interior of the lining(20) through the through holes(11,21) on the front end thereof; and a warning lamp(60) connected to the sensor(40) via a relay(50) having a pair of switch contacts(51,52).
