Radiographic apparatus with image detector movable in three dimensions

A column (2) suspended from the ceiling (1) of the examination room carries a board (3) on a C-curve with the image detector (4) which is based pref. on amorphous Si and is freely movable in any direction. The X-ray source (6) is attached to a parallel column (5) and adjusted by a controller (7). The position of the detector is measured by sensors (8) on its column which are connected to a computer (9). This works out a signal for the controller to reposition the X-ray source so that its beam is centred on the detector.
