PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display respective road maps having different scales so as to be easy to see in a vehicular road map display device displaying the road map containing a vehicle current position. SOLUTION: In the control device 10 of a vehicular map display device, two kinds map data having different scales commanded from outside are read out of the map data stored in a CD-ROM, and image data for displaying road maps in respective display areas which are formed by dividing the display screen of the display device into right and left are respectively produced based on the respective map data, and the respective image data are stored in VRAMs 30a, 30b corresponding to the respective display areas. The image data stored in he VRAMs 30a, 30b are synthesized so as to convert into image signals by a video controller 32, and the image signals after conversion are respectively output to a display device 4 so that the road maps having different scales are displayed in the left and the right display areas. As the result, the road maps having different scales are displayed in one display area so as to be easy to see. |
