PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption when releasing energy accumulated in a coil winding in the drive circuit of a stepping motor. SOLUTION: First and second MOS transistors 3a and 3c are connected to first and second coil windings 2a and 2c. A control circuit 6a performs the chopping control of one of the first and second MOS transistors 3a and 3c, supplies a drive current to a coil winding that is connected to it, and sets the other MOS transistor to a non-drive state. Also, the control circuit 6a turns on the other MOS transistor a period for turning off the MOS transistor is reached during the chipping control of one MOS transistor, performs conduction operation in opposite direction, and forms a current path for releasing energy accumulated in a coil winding in drive state. |
