PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase degrees of freedom in setting the waveforms of a starting pulses and miniaturize a circuit without complicating a constitution of a pulse- generating circuit for generating pulses that are a source of the starting pulses. SOLUTION: In a lamp-startup circuit 1, there is provided a pair of input terminals 2 and 2', a pair of AC output terminals 4 and 4' to which a lamp 3 is connected, a pulse-generating circuit 5 for generating starting pulses for the lamp 3, and transforms 6 and 6' for stepping up voltage of starting pulses from the pulse generating circuit 5 to superimpose them on a supply voltage to the lamp 3. Each of the secondary windings 6b and 6'b of transformers 6 and 6' are arranged on connection lines 7 and 7' for connecting AC input terminals 2 and 2' to AC output terminals 4 and 4' and pulses are generated by means of the pulse generating circuit 5 on primary windings 6a and 6'a of these transformers 6 and 6'. |
