TERMINAL STRUCTURE OF FLEXIBLE PRINTED BOARD AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal structure of a flexible printed board which can be thinned, is high in the reliability of electrical connections and in mechanical connecting strength and is easy to manufacture and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A flexible printed board 11 comprising an insulating film 12 made from a thermoplastic synthetic resin with a conductive pattern 13 formed thereon is provided, and a metallic terminal piece 17 having a projecting part provided on each side edge has its projecting part connected to the top of the conductive pattern 13 on the terminal part 14 of the insulating film 12 by a conductive adhesive 16 and is projected out of the terminal part 14 by a predetermined size; a terminal locking film 18 made from the same thermoplastic synthetic resin as the insulating film 12 is placed on the terminal part 14 from above the metallic terminal piece 17, and a predetermined portion of the insulating film 12 except the portion where the metallic terminal piece 17 is located is thermally fused to the terminal locking film 18, so that the metallic terminal piece 17 is sandwiched between the insulating film 12 and the terminal locking film 18.
