This invention describes how highly branched poly-iso-olefins are prepared, according to the invention, by iso-olefins polymerization, given the case in combination with conjugated or not conjugated dienes, in a single-stage process, in solution, suspension, or in gaseous phase, in presence of bifunctional monomers, having at least a cationic polymerization susceptible group, and at least a group which serves as initiator for iso-olefins (inymer) cationic polymerization, at temperatures of +20 to -100 degree C, in a given case, in presence of inert organic solvents, and in presence of alkylalumoxanes (co-initiator).
