<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily transmit and receive a moving image from a photographing means by tramsmitting a picture signal converted by the photographing means as moving picture data in a second protocol different from a first protocol. SOLUTION: A camera server and a client are respectively provided with a constitution for transmitting and receiving a static picture, and a constitution for transmitting and receiving a moving picture. In an HTTP protocol, a static picture is transferred as one picture file from a camera server to a client according to a request from a WWW browser, and when the transfer is ended, the data transfer between the camera server and the client is interrupted. Also, the control information of a video camera is transmitted to the camera server in the HTTP protocol. When transmitting and receiving the moving picture, a plurality of static pictures constituting the moving picture are transferred from the camera server to the client without being interrupted. In this case, the control information of the video camera is operated in a camera control protocol instead of the HTTP protocol.</p> |
